The Danger of Self-Righteousness

Self-righteousness can be dangerous.  We do not feel that we need to listen to other’s views on Scripture or religious takes on things.  We discredit or immediately discard their thoughts from our heads.  A chance is not even given due to whatever HIGH and MIGHTY feeling that is being embraced to look down upon them.  These thoughts diminish them and elevates us.  But, God speaks to ALL of His children.  Each person hears on a different level depending on our sensitivity to the Holy Spirit and maturity level.  You never know what God will share with someone else to speak into your life or other’s lives.  By not giving you ALL the info, it makes us rely on God and the relationships He has provided.  The Almighty is very serious about relationships:  His with us, and our relationships with each other.  Independence is torn down while dependence is built.  With dependence in the mix, it keeps us all on equal footing with each other….looking up to the Father for answers, strength, and love to make life happen.  Relationships require humility before God, the cross, and each other.  Humility before the man looking back in the mirror.  No self-exaltation.  Just exaltation of God and Jesus, exaltation of our relationships, and exaltation of grace manifested in our lives consistently every day.
